Questions for Officiant NYC


What are your rates?

  • Weddings within the 5 boroughs and Long Island City range between $400 and $700
  • Weddings outside of the city, within the state of New York, range between $600 to $1000

What do your rates include?

  • An initial meeting with your officiant to see if they are a good fit.
  • During that meeting, we will go over each component of the wedding ceremony.
  •  We provide many options for each part and can customize to your liking.
  • We’ll enlighten you with unique and beautiful ways to make your ceremony extra special and personal.
  • We provide as many drafts and consultations as needed to ensure your ceremony is perfect for you.
  • We’ll perform your ceremony and do everything within our power to make sure you are relaxed and that your wedding lives up to your dreams

How long does an average ceremony last?

On average they run between 15 to 20 minutes. Quality is our top priority.

How do you connect with each couple?

We are officiants because we love meeting new people, especially twosomes, in love. We ask the right questions and are intent listeners. Real love stories are our guilty pleasure and it's just as important for us to connect with you, as it is for you to connect with us. We are standing up there, right besides you, on one of the most emotional, important days of your life. We take it very seriously and offer you our very best wishes and support.

Do you offer ceremonies in Spanish?

Absolutely!  We have a wonderful officiant on our team, Andrea, who is fluent in both English and Spanish and can converse in French.

Do you offer license signing without a ceremony?

Yes we do. We charge $250 and will include short vows and a pronouncement. 

Do you offer wedding rehearsals?

Rehearsals held right before the ceremony are complimentary. Rehearsals prior to the day are an additional $250 and subject to availability.

Do you provide help with writing personal vows?

We do. The questionnaire we provide helps with vow writing. We also go over what a vow should entail.

Do you perform same - sex marriages?

Hell yeah! Being true to yourself is what marriage is all about! True love is our only prerequisite. 

Do you offer elopements?

Yes we do. Figuring out the most convenient time to chat, due to time zones, is probably the only challenging part. We always figure it out though, and are happy to enlighten you with our extensive knowledge of New York City and happy to suggest vendors, restaurants and anything else you might need. 

Can we add religious or cultural elements to our ceremony? 

Absolutely! We do this all the time. We have been exposed to so many different wedding rituals from all religions and cultures. We've also come up with new ways of explaining or performing some, as an option of course. 

Do you perform last minute weddings?

Yes all the time. We are usually able to accommodate last minute weddings because we are a group of 8 officiants.

What if our officiant gets sick, kidnapped or any other dire reason that prevents them from performing our ceremony?

We will never stand you up at the "alter". Life, unfortunately, sometimes throws us lemons that are out of our control. Please note that this rarely happens, but if it does, one of us is always on call for such emergencies and will be there to  perform the ceremony that was designed especially for you. 

Do you offer marriage counselling?

In our own way. We always We always inquire about how your parents, relatives, friends, family and guests feel. We want your wedding to be celebrated by all. Believe it or not, you can create a ceremony that rings true to you and doesn't disrespect anyone. 

A family member or friend wants to marry us, can you help advise?

  • We offer consultations for $250.
  • Consultations include, an in depth meeting during which we will go over everything you need to know from signing the wedding license to performing and designing the ceremony.
  • We grant you access to all of our materials that we use to design ceremonies.

New York Wedding License Q & A


1. How do we apply for our marriage license?

You must apply for your Marriage License together, in-person, between 60 days and 24 hours before signing. You may obtain your license from any City Clerk's office in New York City or any clerks office in New York State.

2. Do we need a witness for our ceremony?

You need at least one witness who is over the age of 18 to sign your license. You may have up to two

3. Who submits the signed Marriage License to the Clerk's Office after our ceremony?

Once all necessary parties have signed your Marriage License, your officiant will take the license, make a copy and mail it to the Clerk's Office in the envelope that the Clerk's Office gave you when you were issued the license.

4. How soon after our wedding can we expect to receive our marriage certificate?

The City Clerk’s office states that it may take up to 6 to 8 weeks for your Marriage Certificate to be processed and returned. 

 5. What if we need our Marriage Certificate sooner than 6 to 8 weeks?

Just one of you may take your signed  license back to to the City Clerk's Office, on the next working business day and you will be issued your certificate on the spot

6. What if my marriage certificate gets lost?

We will track it down. We have never had a license get lost under our care.

7. We are from a foreign country - how do we make sure our marriage is legally recognized back home?

New York City wedding elopements are no strangers to us.  Before traveling to New York to get married, please remember to contact the authorities in your home country and confirm what you'll need in terms of documentation so that your marriage is recognized in your country. Once you know what is required by your own government, you'll know what questions to ask the Clerk's Office when you apply for your Marriage License and what steps are necessary to get the documents that you'll need! A great place to start is the City Clerks website where, under the heading "Fees," you'll find information regarding how to obtain an Extended Marriage Certificate and Apostille in person. In addition, you'll find information on how to request an Extended Marriage Certificate by mail under the heading "Marriage Records Request by Mail". If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to call the City Clerk's Office directly to be sure you know how to obtain whatever is necessary to make your marriage legal in your own country.

Do we need a permit to get married in Central Park?

If your guest count exceeds 10, then you should get one. It's advisable to get permits for the most  popular locations, like Ladies Pavilion and Wagner's Cove especially during high wedding seasons: The Spring (April - June) and the Fall (September - October)

How do we apply for a Central Park wedding permit?

All park permits in NYC are booked through the NYC PARKS WEBSITE  

How much does the Permit cost and how long does it take?

All special events permits require a $25.00 nonrefundable administrative processing fee, and permits require at least 30 days for processing.
